Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the State Statistics Committee, in January-May 2021, the number of newly created enterprises and organizations made up 45,500 units. Compared to the same period of last year, this indicator increased by 7,595 units, and the growth rate was 20.0%.

Compared to last year, in the regional context, there was a significant increase in the number of newly created enterprises and organizations, in particular in Kashkadarya region (by 3,535 units), the city of Tashkent (by 2,069 units), as well as in Ferghana (by 1 462 units) and Samarkand (for 814 units) regions.

As of 1 June 2021, the number of operating enterprises and organizations increased by 82,320 units and, if compared with the corresponding period of 2020 (426,186 units), the growth rate was 19.3%.

Compared to last year, in the regional context, a significant increase in the number of operating business entities was recorded, in particular in the city of Tashkent (by 14,614 units), Samarkand (by 8,567 units) and Kashkadarya (by 8,148 units) regions.

In terms of industries, if we compare with last year, the highest level was demonstrated by the trade sector - by 32,277 units, industry - by 14,577 units, followed by agriculture, forestry and fisheries - by 11,185 units, health care and rendering social services - only 1,411 units.

The analysis showed that approximately 50% of business entities in Uzbekistan were created over the past three years.

Compared to last year, in the regional context, there has been a significant increase in the number of newly created business entities, for example, in Kashkadarya region (by 3,495 units), the city of Tashkent (by 1,956 units), Ferghana (by 1,411 units) and Samarkand (793 units) regions.

In terms of industries, if we compare with last year, the highest level was demonstrated by industry - by 1,840 units, followed by trade - by 1,626 units, information and communication - by only 442 units.

Of the total number of operating enterprises and organizations, a significant share falls on business entities - 446,566 units, or 87.8%.

Their growth rates, if compared with the same period of last year, amounted to 22.1%.

In the context of industries, growth was observed in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 33.1%, trade - 28.5%, information and communication - 21.7%, as well as in Kashkadarya region - 36.5%, Samarkand region - 30.0% regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 23.9%, Bukhara region - 23.8% and Jizzakh - 23.5%.

The number of operating small businesses as of 1 June 2021 increased by 80,914 units. and, compared with the corresponding period of 2020, the growth rate was 22.3%.

In the context of industries, growth was recorded in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 133.3%, trade - 128.7%, information and communications - 121.6%, industry - 119.9%, as well as in Kashkadarya - 136.7% , Samarkand - 130.3%, Bukhara - 124.1% and Jizzakh - 123.7% regions.

It is interesting to note that the industrial sector has the greatest potential among other sectors of the economy. So, over the past three years in the national economy, the growth rate of the number of operating industrial enterprises made up 69.3%.

Of the total number of enterprises and organizations, the number of industrial enterprises amounted to 17.4%, of which 94.8% belong to the manufacturing industry (growth, compared to 2020, is 20.1%), 3.2% - to the mining industry and development. quarries (growth - 13.0%), 0.5% - electricity supply, gas, steam and air conditioning (growth - 15.5%), 1.5% - water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal (growth – 17.2%).

Compared to the same period of 2019, the growth rate of the number of enterprises and organizations related to the construction sector, which is one of the sectors with stable growth rates in the national economy, reached 36.3%.

The total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the construction sector in the following areas:

- construction of buildings and structures, amounted to 56.9%, the growth rate, compared with the corresponding period of last year, reached 11.1%;

- the construction of civil facilities was recorded at the level of 9.9%, and the growth rate reached 15.6%;

- specialized construction work - 33.2%, the growth rate was 16.1%.

The total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the field of trade in the following areas:

- retail trade, except for the sale of cars and motorcycles, amounted to 63.8%, the growth rate, in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year, reached 30.2%;

- wholesale trade, except for trade in cars and motorcycles, was fixed at 28.1%, and the growth rate reached 25.0%;

- wholesale and retail trade in cars and motorcycles and their repair - 8.1%, the growth rate was 27.7%.

As of 1 June 2021, the number of enterprises amounted to 6.3% of their total number in the country. The growth rates of the number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of accommodation and catering services, if compared with the same period in 2019, reached 38.0%.

Hotels, tourist camps, parks, recreation and entertainment towns are important areas of activity in the field of accommodation services and, as of 1 June 2021, the share of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of accommodation and catering services was 9.5%.

Restaurants and services for the delivery of food, food on order and other services for the delivery of food, as of 1 June 2021, account for 90.5% of the services for the provision of food and beverages.

As of 1 June 2021, the number of enterprises and organizations engaged in the development of publishing, the production of films, video films, television programs, phonograms and musical recordings, in the field of information and communications amounted to 22.3%, the growth rate compared to the corresponding period 2020, reached 13.7%.

The number of enterprises for the creation of programs, television and radio broadcasting and communications in the field of information and communications amounted to 31.5%, the growth rate, if compared with the same period in 2020, made up 21.6%.

The number of enterprises in computer programming, consulting and other related services, as well as in the field of information services in the field of information and communications amounted to 46.2%, the growth rate, compared to the same period of last year, reached 24.4%.

As of 1 June 2021, 95.1% of healthcare and social services enterprises were healthcare enterprises and, when compared with the corresponding period in 2020, the growth rate reached 17.7%.

The number of residential care establishments was 2.4% and, compared to the same period in 2020, the growth rate reached 3.1%.

The number of enterprises providing social services without providing housing in the healthcare sector and providing social services amounted to 2.5%, the growth rate, compared to the same period of last year, reached 6.2%.

As of 1 June 2021, the number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of transportation and storage of the total number in the country amounted to 3.5%.

The growth rates of enterprises and organizations in the field of land and pipeline transport, operating in transportation and storage, amounted to 11.7%, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, in the field of storage and auxiliary transport activities, the growth rate was 10.0%, postal and courier service - 33.9%. The number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of air transport increased 1.9 times and, if compared with the same period in 2020, the number of enterprises and organizations in the field of water transport increased 4.3 times.

Of the 446.6 thousand operating commercial enterprises and organizations as of 1 June 2021, limited liability companies account for 298.1 thousand. Based on this, it can be concluded that limited liability companies are the most common form of implementation entrepreneurial activity in the country.

If we consider in the context of industries, then the growth was recorded in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 37.3%, trade - 32.1%, information and communications - 30.4%, healthcare and social services - 25.1%, as well as in Kashkadarya - 39.7%, Samarkand - 29.7%, Namangan - 27.2% and Ferghana - 27.1% regions.

Compared to the same period of last year, then, as of 1 June 2021, the number of operating private enterprises increased by 7.8%.

In the context of industries, growth was recorded in trade - 12.6%, healthcare and social services - 9.1%, accommodation and food services - 7.1%, industry - 6.6%, as well as in Samarkand - 14, 4%, Kashkadarya - 13.2%, Ferghana - 12.4%, Surkhandarya - 10.3%, Bukhara - 9.5% and Khorezm - 8.7%.

As of 1 June 2021, the number of operating family businesses that have passed state registration as a legal entity amounted to 48,252, or 93.7% of the number of registered family businesses.

Compared to the previous year, their number grew by an average of 41.6%.

In terms of industries, growth, in particular, was observed in trade - 58.3%, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 45.9%, healthcare and social services - 45.5%, industry - 37.3%, as well as in Kashkadarya - 144.0%, Jizzakh - 71.1%, Namangan - 63.7%, Samarkand - 49.6% and Bukhara - 48.1%.

As of 1 June 2021, in the republic, the number of operating enterprises with the participation of foreign capital amounted to 12 654 units. Compared with the previous year, the growth rate was 15.0%, or 1,648 units.

In the context of industries, growth was observed in healthcare and the provision of social services - 25.5%, construction - 22.5%, trade - 21.3%, information and communication - 19.7%, as well as in Khorezm region - 26.0%, Surkhandarya region - 24.7%, Samarkand region - 16.4% regions, Tashkent city - 15.9%, Jizzakh region - 15.3% and Andijan region - 15.2%.
