Uzbek leader signs decree on measures to further strengthen the financial support of World War II participants

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 May, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree "On measures to further strengthen the financial support of World War II participants".
The document was adopted in order to form an effective system of state support and social protection for the elderly, respect for the elderly who take an active part in increasing the authority of the Motherland, spiritual and moral education of young people, as well as further strengthening the material support of veterans who made a worthy contribution to the victory over fascism.
According to the decree, the minimum pension for participants in the 1941-1945 war, as well as former underage prisoners of Nazi concentration camps and people who worked under the siege of Leningrad, is set at 2.5 million soums from 10 May.
The costs of increasing the pension will be covered by the extra-budgetary Pension Fund under the Ministry of Finance and the republican budget.
