Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka strengthen cooperation in the field of tourism
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 April 2021, a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Meegahalande Durage Lamawansa was held at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Association of Private Travel Organizations of Uzbekistan and leading travel companies operating in the direction of Sri Lanka.
The participants of the meeting discussed issues of enhancing cooperation in priority areas of tourism, got acquainted with the tourism potential, attractive routes and tourism products of Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on strengthening the bilateral legal framework in the field of tourism, expanding business contacts between members of the Association of Private Tourism Organizations of Uzbekistan and the Bureau for the Promotion of Tourism of Sri Lanka, organizing webinars and business meetings for representatives of the tourism industry of the two countries.
