Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Young circus artists from 6 countries showed their skills during the first International Festival of Youth Circus Art, which was held in Tashkent from 15 to 17 April.
The event was dedicated to World Circus Day, which is celebrated annually around the world on the third Saturday in April. The International Festival became possible with the support of the Ministry of Culture, as well as sponsors, including the AKFA Group holding.
The age of the festival participants is from 8 to 16 years old. The youth presented 26 group and individual numbers in various genres. Competitors from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and the People's Republic of China demonstrated their abilities in the arena of the Uzbek State Circus, while performances by participants from the Russian Federation and Ukraine were broadcast online.
The performances of young circus performers were judged by a jury of domestic cultural figures - the director of the Uzbek State Circus Rustam Madjidov, People's Artist of Uzbekistan Guli Khamraeva, Honored Artist of our country Karima Zaripova, as well as the rector of the State Academy of Choreography Shukhrat Tokhtasimov and director of the circus art studio “Dlux Circus” Kozlov.
On 17 April, within the framework of a grand gala concert, an award ceremony was held for the winners. "Gold" of the festival went to Aina Maratova from Kyrgyzstan and the representative of Uzbekistan Daler Khametov. Our compatriots Anastasia Bobyleva and Mubina Ganieva received the silver medal. Ksenia Konyushenko and Ksenia Bobrova shared the honorary "bronze" duet from our country with Anna Levina, a participant from Ukraine.
The Grand Prix of the festival was won by a contestant from Kazakhstan Arina Statsenko, who performed a bright number in aerial gymnastics on canvases. Special prizes were awarded to Murodjon Makhmudov (Uzbekistan), Yulia Jao (China) and Anna Levina (Ukraine). The highlight of the festival was the performances of the artists of the famous circus dynasties of Uzbekistan - the Tashkenbaevs tightrope walkers and the Zaripov djigits.
It is expected that the I-International Festival of Youth Circus Art will strengthen international creative ties between youth circus groups and performers, serve as mutual enrichment in the field of culture and art, and increase the creative authority of the Uzbek State Circus in the international arena. Another goal of the event is to find talented youth.
