Uzbek-British working group to study the development of the international financial center in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 February 2021, the Agency for the Development of the Capital Market of the Republic of Uzbekistan and TheCityUK group held the first online meeting of the Uzbek-British working group of the MFC, where the parties discussed the start of the second phase of the project to create the Tashkent International Financial Center ( hereinafter - TMPTs).
Led by Mr. Atabek Nazirov, and Mr. Wayne Evans, TheCityUK, the Uzbek-British working group discussed a preliminary vision of TMFC as an integral ecosystem in Uzbekistan, which will be reflected in the final report of the working group at the end of the three-month project.
The working group shared its views on the main infrastructures required to create an internationally recognized financial center, as well as on possible legal and regulatory regimes on the territory of the MFC "Tashkent".
The Uzbek interdepartmental working group includes the Agency for the Development of the Capital Market, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent. The British side is represented by leading international experts from such organizations as PwC, Norton Rose Fulbright, London Stock Exchange Group, Reed Smith, London Banking Institute of Finance, EY, ACCA, Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, Michelmores, Hogan Lovells, BTA Consulting, Guernsey Finance and TheCityUK.
