Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Despite the coronavirus pandemic, local experts were able to further improve their skills by implementing investment projects at the Mubarek gas processing plant and the Shurtan oil and gas production department.
In 2021, a number of works are planned to implement new investment projects, increase production efficiency and create new jobs.
In particular, on behalf of the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz Mehriddin Abdullayev, implementation of investment projects has begun to launch new production facilities and facilities of the Shurtan gas chemical complex and the Mubarek gas processing plant.
In 2021, 11 projects will be implemented in the amount of US$985.8 million, including 8 projects with the help of foreign investments and loans in the amount of US$773.9 million.
Based on the purified methane of the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex, work has begun on the project for the production of liquefied synthetic fuel (GTL), which will be launched at full capacity in August this year.
As a result, the production of 307.3 thousand tons of kerosene, 724.6 thousand tons of diesel fuel, 437.3 thousand tons of naphtha, 53.4 thousand tons of liquefied gas will be established and 1,321 jobs will be created.
The project to modernize a gas purification unit using zeolite at the Shurtan head facility is capable of purifying 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas using zeolite, which is planned to be fully implemented by the end of the year.
In the same year, an investment project will be implemented to modernize the amino acid gas purification unit at the Shurtan headquarters. By December, the modernization will be completed and the purification of 3 billion cubic meters of natural gas using amine will be established.
Another of the major investment projects being implemented by Uzbekneftegaz is the generation of electricity from excess steam by installing a steam turbine in boiler room No. 2 of the Mubarek gas processing plant.
As a result of the project implementation, it is planned to establish electricity production in the amount of 54,180 MW, and thanks to this investment project, which will be launched before December, 30 new jobs will be created.
