Uzbekistan to adopt the Law "On the Children’s Ombudsman"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government resolution approved the Concept for the Development of State Youth Policy in Uzbekistan until 2025 and the Road Map for its implementation in 2021–2022.
According to the resolution, the goals and objectives of the Concept will be implemented in the following 4 stages:
- identification of existing problems in the field of youth;
- development of specific approaches aimed at solving problems;
- taking measures to solve the identified problems and implementing the developed proposals;
- monitoring the effectiveness of solving problems and implementing proposals.
According to the "Roadmap" approved by the resolution, the adoption of the Law "On the Children’s Ombudsman" is envisaged.
As a result of the implementation of the concept, in particular:
- in schools, a mechanism will be created for determining the interests of 7th grade students in the context of professions, introducing students in grades 8-9 with modern and promising professions, teaching students from the 10th grade professions with the help of state and non-state educational centers, and covering their costs through the voucher system;
- the number of young people regularly engaged in culture and art will be increased by 30 percent, their participation in international competitions and festivals will be increased by 40 percent;
- regular participation of 30 percent of young people in mass sports will be achieved;
- 80 percent of children aged 3-7 years in the republic will be covered by preschool educational organizations;
- IT parks will be built in all regions, training centers for digital technologies will be created in districts (cities), about 200 thousand young people will be trained within the framework of the project "One million Uzbek programmers";
- institutional structures for volunteering will be created;
Based on the results achieved, the Concept will be implemented in stages based on the corresponding "road maps" that will be approved annually from 2023.
