Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-December 2020, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 367.1 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production for the same period in 2019 amounted to 100.7%. In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (83.0%), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The main factors behind the decline in the physical volume of industrial production were its decrease in mining and quarrying enterprises - by 21.9%, in water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal - by 7.9%. At the same time, there is an increase in the volume of production in the processing industry by 7.1%, at the enterprises of power supply, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 12.5%.
The volume of products manufactured by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-December 2020 amounted to 33.0 trillion soums, or 9.0% of the total industry.
Manufacturing enterprises in January-December 2020 produced goods for 304.7 trillion soums, or 83.0% of the total industry.
In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries amounted to 1.9% (1.5% in January-December 2019), mediumhigh-tech - 22.4% (25.4%), medium-low-tech - 40.1% (36.6%) and low-tech - 35.6% (36.5%).
In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, assembly of machinery and equipment, the production of cars, trailers, semi-trailers and other finished products amounted to 19.4% (the volume index reached 107.6% by January-December 2019), the metallurgical industry - 26.0% (106.3%), enterprises for the production of textile, clothing and leather products - 15.8% (112.0%), for the production of food, drinks and tobacco products - 16.9% (107.5%), enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 6.9% (107.0%).
In January-December 2020, the republic produced 1.016 million tonnes of motor gasoline (compared to the corresponding period of 2019, a decrease of 0.9%), 460.5 thousand tonnes of cotton yarn (an increase of 1.7%), 1.83 million tonnes of soft wheat flour and spelled (8.0%) and 232.7 million liters of beer (12.4%).
In January-December 2020, 4163 trucks were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2019, the volume of production decreased by 21.7%). In 2020, the largest production volume of these products was recorded in December, amounting to 437 units.
In January-December 2020, 642 units of buses were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2019, there was a decrease in production by 58.1%). The largest production volume in 2020 was recorded in March, amounting to 176 units.
In January-December 2020, 222.4 thousand units of automotive engines were produced in the republic (an increase of 10.8% over the corresponding period of 2019). In 2020, the largest volume of production of these products was noted in July, amounting to 24.1 thousand units.
In January-December 2020, 673 tractors were produced in the republic (by January-September 2019, the volume of production decreased by 66.5%). The largest volume of tractor production was recorded in April 2020, amounting to 234 units.
In January-December 2020, 577 units of rippers and cultivators were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2019, a decrease in production by 71.7% was recorded). In April 2020, the largest production volume of these products was noted, amounting to 144 units.
Compared to the same period in 2019, the manufacturing industry increased the production of passenger cars by 1.0 times, automobile engines - by 1.1 times, radiators, mufflers and exhaust pipes, clutches, steering wheels, steering columns, steering box housings and their parts - by 1.1 times.
In the automotive industry in January-December 2020, 79 908 Cobalt cars were produced (growth rates compared to the same period in 2019 were 42.2%), 66 402 - Nexia (-9.2%), 50 052 - Gentra (+12.5%), 51 692 - Damas (-0.2%), 23 003 - Spark (-5.1%) and 9 023 - Labo (+23.8%)
The overhaul of technological equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceed the production figures of the previous year for ammonium sulfate (+5.8% against January-December 2019), potassium chloride (+5.5%) and caustic soda (in 3.9 times.).
At the same time, there is a decrease in the production of methyl alcohol (59.8% compared to January-December 2019), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (97.3%).
If in January-December 2019 the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 22.5%, and the physical volume index increased by 6.7%, then in January-December 2020 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 26.0 %, the index of physical volume increased by 6.3%, while the production volume amounted to 79 165.9 billion soums.
In January-December 2019, the share of production of other non-metallic mineral products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 5.4%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2018, increased by 4.5%. In January-December 2020, the share of other non-metallic mineral products amounted to 5.5%, the index of physical production increased by 8.0%, and the volume of production amounted to 16.61 trillion soums.
If in January-December 2019 the share of food production in the manufacturing industry amounted to 13.9%, and the physical volume index, in relation to the previous year, reached 110.9%, then in January-December 2020 the share of food amounted to 13.9%, the index of the physical volume increased by 8.7%, the total production volume amounted to 42.38 trillion soums.
At the end of January-December 2019, the share of beverage production in the structure of the processing industry amounted to 2.5%, while the volume index, in relation to the same period of the previous year, increased by 12.7%. In January-December 2020, the share of beverage production amounted to 2.4%, the physical volume index increased by 3.9%, and the production volume amounted to 7.31 trillion soums.
At the end of January-December 2019, the share of textile production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 11.8%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of the previous year, increased by 5.3%. In January-December 2020, the share of textile production amounted to 11.9%, the index of the physical volume of their production increased by 15.4%, and the volume of production amounted to 36.23 trillion soums.
If in January-December 2019 the share of clothing production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 3.6%, and the physical volume index increased by 8.7%, then in January-December 2020 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 3.4%, the physical volume index increased by 5.3%, while the production volume amounted to 10.21 trillion soums.
In January-December 2019, the share of chemical production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 7.4%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2018, increased by 2.3%. In January-December 2020, the share of chemical products amounted to 6.9%, the index of physical volume of production increased by 6.7%, and the volume of production made up 20.92 trillion soums.
At the end of January-December 2019, the share of coke and product production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 3.9%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of the previous year, decreased by 8.2%. In January-December 2020, the share of coke and product production amounted to 3.7%, the physical volume index also decreased by 0.5%, and the production volume amounted to 11.12 trillion soums.
At the end of January-December 2019, the share of production of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 13.0%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2018, increased by 21.0%. In January-December 2020, the share of this industry amounted to 11.1%, the physical volume index decreased by 0.2%, and the production volume amounted to 33.72 trillion soums.
At the end of January-December 2019, the share of the production of rubber and plastic products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 2.1%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2018, decreased by 7.7%. In January-December 2020, the share of this industry amounted to 2.3%, the physical volume index increased by 8.4%, and the production volume amounted to 6.94 trillion soums.
The volume of products manufactured by enterprises of electricity supply, gas, steam and air conditioning amounted to 27.2 trillion soums (7.4% of the total industry). The index of the physical volume of the industry, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, increased by 12.5%.
The volume of products produced by enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal amounted to 2.2 trillion soums (0.6% of the total industry).
Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, there was an increase in services for the emptying, cleaning and processing of cesspools, sedimentation tanks and septic tanks - by 46.4%. At the same time, a decrease in the production of textile waste by 8.5% was recorded.
As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, the production of consumer goods amounted to 119.2 trillion soums and, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the growth rate was 103.6%, the share in the total volume of industry was 32.5%.
In the structure of food production, the production of wine and vodka and beer amounted to 7.1% (7.9% in January-December 2019). In the structure of consumer goods production in the republic, the largest share falls on the Andijan region (22.3% of the total volume of consumer goods), Tashkent city (18.4%), Tashkent (11.0%), Samarkand (9.8%) and Ferghana (6.3%) regions.
The largest growth in the production of consumer goods was recorded in Samarkand (+15.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2019), Bukhara (+13.5%), Surkhandarya (+11.7%), Namangan (+9.1%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+10.0%), exceeding the national average (+3.6%).
In the structure of production of non-food products of the republic, the largest share falls on the Andijan region (32.0% of the total volume of nonfood products), Tashkent city (16.6%), Samarkand (9.4%), Tashkent (8.0%) and Khorezm (6.0%) regions. The largest growth in the production of non-food products was recorded in Samarkand (+15.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2019), Bukhara (+11.3%), Surkhandarya (+9.6%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+9.4%) regions.
In the structure of food production in the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (21.7% of the total volume of food products), Tashkent (16.4%) and Samarkand (10.5%) regions. At the same time, the largest growth in food production was recorded in Bukhara (+17.1%), Samarkand (+15.1%) and Tashkent (+12.1%) regions.
During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investment produced goods worth 83.3 trillion soums, the specific weight of which in the total production volume was 22.7%.
The change in industrial production was significantly influenced by the growth of the index of physical volume of industrial production in Surkhandarya (+13.9% compared to January-December 2019), Namangan (+15.8%), Navoi (+9.4%), Jizzakh (+7.1 %), Andijan (+4.6%), Tashkent (+3.8%), Khorezm (+3.6%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+4.1%).
In the structure of industrial output of the republic, the largest share falls on enterprises in the city of Tashkent (18.2% of the republican industrial volume), Navoi (17.7%), Tashkent (17.6%), Andijan (9.7%) and Ferghana (5.9%) regions. The smallest share of industrial production was recorded at the enterprises of Surkhandarya (1.5%) and Jizzakh (1.5%) regions.
Analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the national average (10 723.2 thousand soums) in Navoi (64 763.3 thousand soums), Tashkent (21 821.6 thousand soums), Andijan (11 271.1 thousand soums) regions and Tashkent city (25 461.8 thousand soums).
Production of consumer goods per capita in the reporting period in the republic amounted to 3 480.9 thousand soums, including in Tashkent – 8 371.7 thousand soums, Andijan region - 8 426.7 thousand soums, Tashkent region - 4 431.7 thousand soums, Navoi region - 3 845.3 thousand soums.
During the reporting period, small businesses produced goods worth 100.8 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume was 27.5%. In terms of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in the Jizzakh region (64.2% of the total industrial volume of the region), Namangan (50.0%), Surkhandarya (47.3%), Ferghana (45.9%) and Samarkand ( 45.5%) regions.
At the same time, the smallest share of small business was noted in Navoi (6.6%), Andijan (20.0%) and Tashkent (20.8%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (23.9%). Analysis of the structure of industrial production in the context of the regions of the republic showed that the low share of production of small businesses in the total volume of industry is explained by the significant production volume of large industrial enterprises located in these regions.
Today, 83.5 thousand industrial enterprises operate in the republic, of which 15.9 thousand (19.0% of the total number of operating enterprises) are in Tashkent city, 9.1 thousand (10.9%) - in Ferghana, 8.8 thousand (10.5%) - Tashkent, 8.3 thousand (10.0%) - Andijan, 7.0 thousand (8.3%) - Samarkand and 6.6 thousand (7.9%) - Namangan region.
In January-December 2020, 18 626 industrial enterprises were newly created in the republic, of which 2 451 (13.2% of the total number of newly created) accounted for Andijan, 1 788 (9.6%) - Surkhandarya, 1 514 (8.1 %) - Tashkent region, 1 886 (10.1%) - Ferghana region and 1 939 (10.4%) - Tashkent city.
Nowadays, the largest number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the cities of Andijan (3 076 units), Namangan (2 595 units), Samarkand (1 599 units), Kokand (1 443 units), as well as in the following districts of the city of Tashkent: Almazar (2 160 units), Chilanzar (1 966 units), Uchtepa (1 905 units), Yunusabad (1 727 units), Shaikhantakhur (1 417 units) and Sergeli (1 407 units).
As of January 1, 2021, the minimum number of operating industrial enterprises is located in Shirin (59 units), Syrdarya region; Tamdy district (60 units), Navoi region; Arnasai (79 units) and Yangiabad (66 units) districts of Jizzakh region; Kegeyli (79 units), Kanlykul (74 units), Takhtakupyr (71 units) and Bozatau (31 units) regions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; Bandikhan district (50 units) of Surkhandarya region; in the city of Gazgan, Navoi region (4 units).
The development of industrial production in the republic was also facilitated by the implementation of the Program for the localization of the production of finished products, components and materials, within the framework of which, under 1 427 projects, products worth 15.3 trillion were produced. soums, exported localized products for 192.9 million US dollars, created 7 697 new jobs. Compared to the same period in 2019, in January-December 2020, the number of newly created jobs decreased by 76.7%. At the same time, compared to January-December 2019, there is a decrease in the volume of exports of localized products.
