Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By the efforts of Uzbekneftegaz’s specialists, the catalyst at the gas oil hydrotreating unit of the Bukhara refinery was replaced with the most modern type. As a result, for the first time in Uzbekistan, the production of diesel fuel of ecological categories Euro-4 and Euro-5 was launched.
Currently, fuel in Uzbekistan fully complies with world standards and has become an export-oriented product. At the end of 2020, a total of 85.9 thousand tons of Euro-3, 4, 5 diesel fuel were produced and delivered to consumers.
In 2020, the Bukhara oil refinery produced 843,900 tons of motor gasoline, the amount of which became the highest in the plant’s 23-year history. For the first time in the history of the oil and gas industry, the sale of petroleum products was introduced on the basis of holistic market principles.
Also, in the lagging 2020, a new stage of cooperation with local scientists was established, for the first time, in cooperation with the Research Chemical and Pharmaceutical Institute of Uzbekistan, the production of local adsorbent UzAD-1 was introduced instead of the adsorbent SAS-851 (France).
The first step was made towards the project "Modernization and reconstruction of the Bukhara oil refinery", which had been planned for many years, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the companies Uzbekneftegaz, Honeywell UOP (USA) and SK E&C (South Korea).
