Uzbekistan exports US$1.7 million worth of persimmons

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- For the first nine months of this year, Uzbekistan exported 13,400 tonnes of persimmons for US$1.73 million.
This is 4.6 tonnes more than in the same period of last year. The foreign exchange earnings from the export of these solar fruits increased by 28%.
According to the State Customs Committee, 50% of the persimmons were exported to Kyrgyzstan and 39% to Russia.
Also, this year the export of persimmon to Turkmenistan increased 3.2 times, Ukraine - 1.2 times.
Persimmon grown in Uzbekistan has been exported to Poland, Lithuania and Germany for the first time this year.
Thus, today persimmons are exported from our state to the markets of 10 countries, including Belarus, the United Arab Emirates and Kyrgyzstan.
