At the end of 2019, the National Chamber and the Royal International College of Canada signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of creating in Uzbekistan the possibility of training medical specialists according to Canadian standards. Thus, the Medical Institute of Karakalpakstan, as one of the most promising universities in the country, with a strong teaching staff, serious fundamental research in the field of medicine, is able to create an accredited course for postgraduate education based on the Canadian curriculum.
The introduction of international educational standards in the field of medicine is one of the tasks set by the leadership of Uzbekistan for the National Chambers of Innovative Healthcare. For this pilot project in this direction, the experience of such a country known for the quality of its healthcare as Canada was selected.
During an online forum with the participation of three parties to the project, the Royal International College of Canada confirmed that it is ready to begin practical work with Uzbekistan, the result of which will be the accreditation of an Uzbek medical university and a training program that will enable doctors to work in Canada and in countries where Canadian education is recognized.
During a trip to Nukus, R. Izamov and O. Ataniyazova also discussed the possibility of opening a simulation training course on the basis of the Medical Institute of Karakalpakstan with the support of the National Chamber to improve the qualifications of doctors who are fighting COVID-19. To this end, the National Chamber plans to supply all the necessary modern equipment, as well as the latest techniques based on international experience in combating the pandemic.
As the experience of the pandemic has shown, the qualifications of medical workers, experience with modern equipment, in particular, mechanical ventilation, as well as taking into account the individual characteristics of each patient play a crucial role in the quality treatment of patients with COVID-19.
