Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 September 2020, at the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, a regular meeting of the working group was held to prepare a response to the parliamentary request of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to ensure the protection of the rights of citizens of Uzbekistan carrying out temporary work in Russian Federation".
The meeting was attended by the heads of the ministries of employment and labor relations, health, foreign affairs, transport, to support the mahalla and family, construction, and internal affairs.
In order to establish closer ties with the working group and assist in analyzing the situation and formulating specific proposals, members of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment and Tourism also took part in the meeting.
Within the framework of the meeting, the progress in preparing a response to the parliamentary request, eliminating systemic problems and existing shortcomings, improving the mechanisms of organized recruitment, further developing the bilateral legal framework, as well as creating additional guarantees and opportunities for social protection of migrants-citizens of Uzbekistan, working in Russia.
As a result of the event, it was decided to finalize the materials and proposals that will form the basis of the response of the Cabinet of Ministers to the parliamentary request, as well as conduct a more thorough study of the state of implementation of bilateral Uzbek-Russian agreements in the field of labor migration.
