Customs officers prevent illegal drug trafficking for 144 million soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the state customs service are systematically taking measures to combat illicit trafficking in drugs and medical supplies of unknown quality.
Recently, as a result of an operational measure carried out on the territory of Yashnabad district of the capital, the employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Smuggling and Customs Audit prevented the facts of illegal circulation of medicines.
During the event, a car of the Lada Vesta brand was stopped and inspected in the presence of attesting witnesses, driven by citizen I.D.
As a result of the checks carried out, 1,200 units of a foreign-made drug called Minoxodil without the necessary shipping documents were found in the car.
According to preliminary estimates, the total cost of drugs was 144 million soums.
Currently, on the revealed fact of the offense, customs inspections are underway.
