Uzbekistan, Thailand discuss development of bilateral ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 July 2020, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov held talks with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Vijavat Isarabakdi, in the form of video conference.
During the conversation, the state and priority directions of Uzbek-Thai relations in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields were discussed.
The parties expressed their readiness to expand political dialogue at various levels. In this regard, the schedule of upcoming joint events, in particular the next round of political consultations between the foreign affairs agencies of Uzbekistan and Thailand, was considered.
The importance of the development of trade, economic and investment ties for both sides was noted, the mechanisms for further increasing mutual trade volumes were discussed.
The deputy foreign ministers noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of relations between the two countries within the framework of international organizations and structures, the similarity of positions on a number of issues on the international agenda.
The talks also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
