Al-Khabar al-Yum talks about the most important events in the economic and social life of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Egyptian newspaper Al-Khabar al-yum (“News of the day”) continues to actively cover the most significant events in the socio-political and economic life of Uzbekistan. Readers are presented with information about the negotiations between representatives of business circles of the two countries, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Egypt as part of a videoconference, Dunyo reports.
Following the talks, the parties agreed on the supply to Egypt of fruits and vegetables that do not cultivate in the country, such as cherries, various types of grapes, plums, persimmons and apples, as well as the establishment of supplies from Egypt of popular citrus crops like orange, mandarin, mango and others.
Great interest among Egyptian partners was also caused by the establishment of cooperation in the framework of the healthy nutrition program in children's educational institutions.
The second material of the newspaper Al-Khabar al-yum tells about the results of reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in the field of science and education. The science sector of Uzbekistan consists of more than 100 academic and sectoral scientific institutions, including 65 research institutes, 31 research centers, including 14 specialized scientific and practical centers. In addition, research work is carried out in 118 higher education institutions, including their branches. Most of the existing scientific potential is concentrated in Tashkent.
The data according to which today in Uzbekistan more than 37 thousand researchers, including professors and teachers of higher educational institutions, are engaged in research activities. Of these, more than 45 percent operate in Tashkent.
“The purpose of introducing a rating system in the republic to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of research institutions is to create a healthy competitive environment among research institutes, stimulate the level and quality of their scientific and innovative activities, effectively use the scientific potential of researchers, create the basis for the development of high-tech products and technologies for the real sector economy of the republic,” the newspaper writes.
