Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 April, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov, in a teleconferencing format, discussed with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk the state and prospects of Uzbek-Russian cooperation in the fields trade, investment, industrial cooperation and logistics.
The parties praised the current level of strategic partnership between the two countries, the dynamics of which over the past three years have shown sharp growth. At the same time, significant untapped potential for further expansion of investment, trade and economic cooperation was emphasized, as well as the need for joint development of specific proposals for realizing this potential.
As noted, an impressive package of large joint projects in the fields of petrochemistry, mining, energy, construction materials, and fruit and vegetable processing is underway.
The urgency of intensifying work in new areas of investment cooperation and industrial cooperation with the aim of forming a list of new solid agreements was emphasized - the prospects of creating joint trade and logistics companies, wholesale distribution centers for fruits and vegetables, agro-industrial clusters and other projects were separately considered.
In addition, specific proposals in the field of trade partnership were examined, namely, measures to expand the range and volumes of mutual deliveries of products that are in demand on the markets of the two countries.
The parties also agreed to combine the efforts of the relevant organizations of the two countries to prepare joint exhibition and congress events - the Interregional Business Forum, the Educational Forum and the Media Forum, which are scheduled to be held this year.
As a result of the discussion, an agreement was reached to continue in-depth cooperation within the indicated areas in order to achieve specific mutually beneficial results.
