Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia met with the Executive Director of CIMES International Sdn. Bhd. Mohd Arshad, in the framework of which issues of further development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation in the field of agriculture were discussed, Dunyo reports.

Founded in 1994, CIMES International Sdn. Bhd. It is engaged in the cultivation of fruits and vegetables using irrigation water and energy-saving technologies, including for export to the countries of Southeast Asia. The agricultural enterprise of the company is located in the state of Selangor.

During the conversation, the Malaysian side was informed in detail about the Strategy for the Development of Agriculture of the Republic for 2020-2030, approved by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to establish cooperation with trading companies in Uzbekistan to conclude an export contract for the supply of tomatoes to Malaysia, as well as to consider the possibility of creating modern greenhouse farms, including for export to Southeast Asia. Along with this, the parties agreed to establish partnerships with the Uzbek Scientific and Production Center of Agriculture for joint research in this area.
