Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Construction of the GTL plant in Uzbekistan continues at an active pace. The overall progress of the implementation of the contract on a turnkey basis (EPC contract) exceeded more than 71%.

At the construction site of the plant for the production of synthetic liquid fuel - GTL, construction work continues in Kashkadarya region. Works performed at more than 25%.

Today, at the construction site of the plant, metal structures, underground and above-ground pipeline networks are being installed, buildings and structures are being constructed, and work continues on the installation of incoming technological equipment.

A detailed project of the plant at the stage of completion and completed by 97.1%, placing orders, manufacturing and delivery of materials, as well as technological equipment to the construction site, was completed by more than 87%. All parts of the Fischer-Tropsch reactors — the “heart” of the gas process — in liquid (GTL) were delivered to the construction site. Assembly and installation of reactors are 42% complete. In total, more than 5,000 workers and specialists, including foreign ones, were involved in construction work, and about 500 units of equipment were mobilized.

Uzbekistan GTL together with Uzbekneftegaz JSC is actively implementing a training program for work at the future plant. More than 300 university graduates have undergone industrial training at the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex and the Bukhara Oil Refinery and transferred to a company where they are actively involved in the design, monitoring and monitoring of construction work, as well as in preparation for the commissioning of the plant.

About 200 specialists continue their training. The company reached an agreement with a similar Oryx GTL plant in Qatar on the training of specialists from Uzbekistan for commissioning, operation and maintenance. As early as 2019–2020, about 100 specialists of the company will undergo a production internship at a plant in Qatar, which in its production capacity and technology is similar to the one under construction in Uzbekistan.

Oryx GTL is a synthetic liquid fuel plant based in the industrial city of Ras Laffan, Qatar. The plant belongs to the oil and gas company Qatar Petroleum (51%) and Sasol (49%). The performance of the Oryx GTL in 2007 was 34,000 barrels per day of liquid petroleum products.

The specialists of Uzbekistan GTL will participate in the planned shutdown of the OryxGTL plant for repairs, its start-up, regular operation, as well as maintenance. This agreement will allow to improve the qualifications of Uzbek specialists and provide familiarization with the technological processes of the OryxGTL plant, as well as work on its commissioning and maintenance. However, the company’s specialists in 2019-2020 will undergo specialized training at manufacturing equipment manufacturers and technology licensors.
