"This year we signed a contract for purchase of the Uzbek gas at a price formula for the first time. We have reached absolutely market relations. Moreover, we actively cooperate in geological survey. I can say that there are very good prospects for gas production in Uzbekistan. Certainly, Uzbekistan is also important as a transit country, in particular, in transiting Turkmen gas," the Gazprom chief said.

"Gazprom also develops its cooperation with Uzbek colleagues in studying opportunities for building main gas transportation pipelines in parallel with the existing Central Asia - Center corridor," Miller said.

"Purchased quantities of Uzbek gas are increasing each year," Miller said.
