Russia and Uzbekistan may form joint aircraft manufacturer
IL-114 aircraft
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Russia and Uzbekistan consider creating a joint venture to produce aircrafts, the president of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Alexey Fyodorov said.
Earlier the countries signed an intergovernmental agreement under which Tashkent aircraft factory should join the UAC, Rosbalt reported.
Eager to hasten the collaboration process the sides are ready to set up a joint venture - Russian UAC will hold 51% in the project.
Currently the sides conjointly work on two projects: IL-76 and IL-114. The IL-114 is a twin-engine turboprop for local routes and may well find a customer on the global market.
