Russian-Uzbek joint venture to be set up to produce IL-114 planes
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian-Uzbek intergovernmental commission has ordered the consideration of issues related to forms of cooperation in starting the production of IL-114 planes in Uzbekistan, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Ivanov told journalists, following the 11th meeting of the Russian-Uzbek intergovernmental commission, ITAR-TASS reported.
He said that an order had been given "to find the form of a joint venture, which could organize the production of IL-114 in Uzbekistan in an efficient manner". "This issue was discussed in detail today," Sergey Ivanov said.
The deputy prime minister also said that the Uzbek parliament was considering the integration of the Tashkent Aviation Construction Production Association. "Domestic procedures have yet to be completed," Sergey Ivanov said. "At the same time, the United Aircraft Corporation and the Tashkent aircraft factory are continuing cooperation in producing IL-76 planes and will start to produce modernized IL-76 planes in Ulyanovsk from 2010," the deputy prime minister said.
