Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Acting governor of Tashkent city Jahongir Artikhodjaev became the Senator of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

State Conservatory of Uzbekistan hosted a joint meeting of the Councils of the People’s Deputies of the city of Tashkent and the districts of the capital. Over 330 MPs took part in the event, the press service of the khokimiyat of Tashkent said.

The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Central Election Committee of Uzbekistan Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov. One of the main issues on the agenda was the issue of electing acting Jahongir Artikhodjaev, acting khokim of Tashkent, as a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As a result of a secret vote, Jahongir Artikhodjaev became the Senator of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
