Uzbekistan increases export of sweet cherry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan increased export of cherries and moved to the fourth place in the world in terms of supplies of these fruits, overtaking Spain.

Analysts of EastFruit noted that Uzbekistan exported about 32,000 tonnes of sweet cherry in 2017, which is 5,000 tonnes more than Spain.

In 2018, according to preliminary estimates, the volume of export of sweet cherry of Uzbekistan can grow up to 36,000-38,000 tonnes.

The company underlined that Uzbekistan has increased exports due to the active expansion of areas under the cherry in 2013-2017.

EastFruit recalls that five years ago Uzbekistan exported about 5,000 tonnes of sweet cherry a year.

The company said that Uzbekistan still sells 99.5% of its products to Russia and Kazakhstan.
