Uzbekistan is interested in Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- “Azerbaijan is an important strategic partner of Uzbekistan in the region. We aim to establish strong economic cooperation along with political relations at high level,” Uzbek Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Ismatulla Igrashev told APA exclusively.

The Ambassador noted that about 10 bilateral agreements on various fields had been signed between the two countries. Elyer Ganiyev, Trade and Foreign Investments Minister of Uzbekistan discussed issue on transit cargo between Asia and Europe via Azerbaijan during his visit to Azerbaijan.

“Uzbekistan is seriously interested in Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project. The project will increase trade turnover between the two countries”, he said.

The Ambassador focused on bilateral agricultural cooperation and stressed that agricultural equipment can be brought from Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan and both of countries can cooperate in the fields of cotton-growing and silkworm breeding. Last year is remembered with a lot of mutual visits between the countries including visit of Uzbek President to Azerbaijan. Delivery of mineral fertilizers and construction materials to Azerbaijan is being considered according to signed agreements,” he added.
