Uzbekistan 09/12/2008 CSTO Security Council to meet in Armenia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization session will set to work on 9 December in Armenia, Toktasyn Buzubaev, CSTO vice-secretary general told the RIA Novosti.

All the CSTO Security Council’s secretaries will meet in Armenia to discuss issues concerning control of terrorism, extremism, and drug trafficking.

The Kyrgyz representative at the session will be Adakhan Madumarov, Kyrgyz Security Council secretary.

“Security Council secretaries will also talk over the joint efforts in the terrorism and extremism control, strengthening anti-drug activity in the framework of Channel preventive operation, illegal migration control and other issues that are covered by the CSTO Security Council,” Buzubaev noted.

Artur Bagdasaryan, the Armenian National Security secretary is expected to chair the session.

The CSTO country members are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
