Leonid Marinich becomes Ambassador of Belarus to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko appointed a new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Uzbekistan.

Leonid Marinich has been appointed to the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Prior to this appointment, he worked as First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus.

Appointing the new Ambassador, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Uzbekistan is one of the priority countries for Belarus, BelTA agency reported.

"We must be absolutely honest and sincere in this country, because they treat us kindly, and try to help them wherever we can. Uzbekistan is our priority country,” Lukashenka stressed.

Lukashenka noted that the Belarusian-Uzbek relations have recently started to develop actively.

"We literally did a lot in a short period of time. Therefore, my visit to Uzbekistan, a specific time will be negotiated, will be a summary of some results, and we will already talk about a new leap forward in our relations, "President Lukashenko said.

According to the Belarusian President, Belarusian technologies and products will be in demand in Uzbekistan. "We must help them in everything, they are not strangers to us," said Alexander Lukashenko.

He pointed out that the main task of the ambassador is to develop trade and economic cooperation, and not just to represent and go to receptions.
