OJSC Akhangaracement products recognized as the best in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Production output for 2008 in OJSC Akhangaracement (Uzbekistan), integrated in the international holding EUROCEMENT group, is planned to be equal to design capacity of 1.736 million tonnes of cement. Shipping and production forecast is 1.8 million tonnes, which is equivalent to 3.7 % of growth to plan, and 10.4 % of growth to production output in 2007. Over the last two years, the Holding EUROCEMENT group has been making active fund investments in the programme of technical upgrade of the plant production, creation of adequate work environment, energy saving, environment protection, and a number of other activity lines. Technical upgrading programme actual costs amounted to 231.44 million rubles within the 10 months of 2008. More than 30 items of truck and mining machines purchased. In order to create favourable work environment in the main production departments, control and utility rooms have been overhauled, new access control point built, and administrative-accommodation building repaired. From 2006, 15 % of producible cement is dispatched by OJSC Akhangaracement at fixed prices for government programmes on construction of schools, colleges, and lyceums in Uzbekistan. The most important construction works are provided with cement, which results in giving good rating to the Government of the Republic. In 2008, cement shipment volume amounted to 70,000 tonnes. As of today, OJSC Akhangaracement is the recognized cement production leader which is proved by awarding the plant with “The best product of 2008” rank for merits in quality field in Uzbekistan. Besides, beneficial effect of the plant’s operation is proved by the fact that German road builders recognized high quality of cement of OJSC Akhangaracement. Cement, produced by OJSC Akhangaracement, passed examination in Hannover (Germany), and was recommended for manufacturing of the road base “Astana - Borovoye Resort” in Kazakhstan. This is confirmed by the thank-you letter received from Transport Department of the Republic of Kazakhstan. “With consumers’ recognition and trust, and having the lowest cement production cost price in plants of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, we count on sustained work within economic crisis environment”, said Denis Dotsenko, Managing director of OJSC Akhangaracement, commenting at the moment of presenting the plant with Certificate and memorable prize “The best product of 2008”.
