In line with the presidential resolution from 11 May 2016, National University of Uzbekistan will be basic university in the sphere of preparing specialists on mathematics, natural sciences and humanities fields of higher education.

Main tasks of the university are preparing highly skilled training of teachers and scholars, holding fundamental scientific research, etc.

The university will improve the system on training and improving skills of teachers and specialists of the scientific-research organizations.

According to the resolution, Scientific-research institute of applied physics will be liquidated from 1 July 2016. Its buildings of the center will be used as labs, chairs of the Physics Faculty of National University.
