Uzbekistan 25/07/2008 CSTO Creates Military Infrastructure on Borders
"As to the third position site, I would like to say that it is one of elements of work carried out on borders of CSTO member-states to create a new military infrastructure and revive certain elements of the time of the Soviet Union," the official specified.

One of the current highlights for CSTO is building up friendly and strategic relations with the states of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). "We have reached rather high level of cooperation with SCO and our main task is to consolidate efforts for ensuring security," Bordyuzha pointed out.

Another concern of CSTO is NATO’s plans to expand eastward. "In view of allied cooperation of CSTO, we coordinate our strategic positions for global and regional security," the official said, adding that it is also true for evaluating the plans for NATO expansion and counter-terrorist activities, Russia’s Kommersant said.

Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tadjikistan are the CSTO members, while SCO unites Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tadjikistan and Uzbekistan.
