Economy 09/07/2008 GISSARNEFTGAZ JV: THREE NEW WELLS ON-STREAM IN JUNE

Hole No.22 Northern Nishan: Started 13 February 2008; completed 1 June 2008. Depth – 3,380 m. Outcome: 210,000 cubic meters of gas and 8 tons of gas condensate per day.
Hole No.30 Northern Nishan: Started 21 January 2008; completed 19 June 2008. Depth – 3,353 m. Outcome: 400,000 cubic meters of gas and 16 tons of gas condensate per day.
Hole No.12 Northern Guzar: Started 4 February 2008; completed 29 June 2008. Depth – 3,060 m. Outcome: 450,000 cubic meters of gas and 55 tons of gas condensate per day.

However, delivery of gas and gas condensate to the Shurtan gas processing plant is currently constrained because of insufficient throughput capacity of the existing pipeline.

To remedy this under-capacity, an additional 47 kms, 530 mm diameter branch pipeline is currently being constructed. Design and survey work have been completed and delivery of pipes has started. Welding and pipe lay operations are scheduled to commence within the next few days. The new pipeline branch is planned to be finished within a month.

As at July 1, 2008, 14.2 Mcm of gas, 215 tons of oil and 1,045 tons of gas condensate are being produced daily at Gissarneftgaz fields. Commissioning of this additional pipeline will bring output from the operating wells to 15 Mcm of gas per day.
