The seminar was part of the series of events planned to be carried out in each region of the country. Similar seminars had been held in Namangan and Tashkent cities for lawyers of financial institutions and businesses and representatives of the judicial system.

Over 30 representatives of local business and judicial agencies had discussed issues of training of arbitrators and mediators, improvement of their professional skills. They had also learned about modern trends in arbitration and mediation, activities of the Arbitration Development Center under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, including procedures of the arbitration courts, selection of arbitrators and other related issues.

The seminar was organized within the joint project of UNDP and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan "Supporting to the development of arbitration courts and other alternative methods of dispute settlement in the Republic of Uzbekistan".
