MPs consider several new draft laws
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session on 15 August 2013 and considered several draft laws, the press service of the lower house of the Uzbek parliament said.

MPs discussed a draft law “On introduction of changes and amendments to the law of Uzbekistan “On political parties”.

MPs underlined that the political parties are becoming effective tool in raising public-political activities of the Uzbek citizens, their political and legal knowledge, etc.

They noted that it is important to promote further role of political parties in state and public construction, as well as forming civil society. To achieve this, UzLiDeP, Milliy Tiklanish and Adolat parties developed a draft law “On introduction of changes and amendments to the law of Uzbekistan “On political parties”.

The document envisages several new norms. In particular, local councils will have right to discuss activities of local administrations. MP groups will have right to raise issues for consideration of the local councils.

It also regulated order of formation and abolishment of MP groups. MP groups will have right to propose nominees to the post of chairperson or deputy chairperson, or their members.

It was noted that offered changes to the law will serve for further improving role of political parties in solving social-economic tasks in places, their activities and responsibility of the state bodies.

Afterwards, MPs discussed a draft law “On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with further strengthening judicial protection of subjects of entrepreneurship”. The document is directed at further developing legislation to provide business entities more freedom and protection of their rights and interests.

In particular, the law will introduce change to law “On state control of the activities of business entities”, which envisages right of businesses to appeal actions and decisions of controlling bodies. It also stipulates that the decision of the controlling bodies will be suspended, if the businesses submit appeal to the court.

The document also envisages measures on improving access to justice for business entities.
