The delegation included representatives of Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environment Protection, Agency for Agriculture Market, Agency for Agriculture Estate, Export Credits Insurance Corporation (KUKE), etc.
A mission of Polish firms, organized by Polish Agency for Entrepreneurship Development, also arrived in Uzbekistan with official delegation. The mission includes representatives of 17 firms of Poland.
During the visit, the Polish delegation met officials of Uzbekistan, including representatives of Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade and Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management of Uzbekistan, Andzrej Dych said in Tashkent during press conference.
The delegation also participated at the work of the Uzbek-Polish cooperation exchange. The event was attended by business circles of two states and they considered further strengthening economic relations.
Andzrej Dych noted that at the talks the sides considered current state and perspectives of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Poland, as well as further development of cooperation.
He said that currently Uzbekistan is the second largest economic partner of Poland in Central Asia. He said that Poland follows development of Uzbekistan with great interest and tries to development of current cooperation.
Andzrej Dych said that trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Poland exceeded US$150 million (according to data of Polish side). He added that one third of Poland exports to Uzbekistan fell to share of agriculture and food products.
Polish official said that in recent years economic relations between Uzbekistan and Poland in processing of agriculture processing and cooperation in this area. He said that this area is developing intensively, he said. Andzrej Dych said that State Programmes of Uzbekistan on development of agriculture also helps to this and various offers of Polish side.
Dych underlined that Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Polish Agency for Entrepreneurship Development signed an agreement on cooperation. He expressed hope that the agreement will lay foundation for development of joint effective projects, directed at developing and strengthening contacts between businesses of Uzbekistan and Poland.
Director of Polish Agency for Entrepreneurship Development Michal Polanski underlined that small businesses of Poland are interested in developing international contacts. In last 2-3 years, they are actively interesting in external markets, including CIS and Central Asia.
He said that the signed agreement is directed at establishing contacts between business circles of Uzbekistan and Poland. He added that Polish entrepreneurs have no information about Uzbekistan.
