Farsi Language Olympiad exam in Uzbekistan
First stage of Farsi (Persian) language and literature examination was held for Farsi students in the Central Asian state of Uzbekistan, said head of cultural office of Iran’s embassy, IRNA reported.
Mohammad-Hossien Abedini told IRNA that 140 senior students of Persian language and literature from four universities in Tashkent and Samarkand took part in the first stage of the exam, answering to questions about Iranology, Farsi language grammer, poems and proses.
After the second examination attended by the first 20 top students, five will be selected for the third stage of the Farsi Olympiad and will be sent to Iran to complete their studies, said the official.
Aimed at evaluation and upgrading the knowledge of the Farsi students, the Olympiad is held in Central Asian countries once every two years.
