SISF holds training for businesswomen
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Social Initiatives Support Fund (SISF) launched four-day training for trainers on 22 August 2012 at the Educational Center of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, which are attended by women farmers and businesses from all regions of Uzbekistan.

The training was organized in cooperation with British Council in Uzbekistan, GIZ, National Association of Accountants and Auditors of Uzbekistan, State Tax Committee, Central Bank, Asaka Bank, Agrobank, Qishloq Qurilish Bank, Microcredit Bank and Halq Bank.

The training is aimed at training of trainers to hold workshops in regions of Uzbekistan, which will cover 800 women farmers and businesses to raise their business skills.

Women farmers and businesses of Uzbekistan have problems with receiving and repaying loans due to lack of knowledge in taxation, accounting, etc. So, there are need to improve knowledge of businesswomen.

Annually SISF organizes trainings and seminars, where businesses study accounting, management, business planning to ensure efficiency of their business.

Currently, SISF is one of executors of the State Programme “The Year of Family” and implement measures on attracting women to business activities.

Since 2007, the SISF has been organizing a project “Support of women farmers and entrepreneurs”, which is directed at providing opportunities to women to participate in business activities through providing micro loans, improving their knowledge and experience.

Within the project, some 789 women received microlonas for 10.631 billion soums in 2011. The loans were issued by the SISF partner banks. These helped to create about 3,000 jobs.
