OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan trains police on information analysis
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A three-day training course on information analysis for police instructors organized by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan started in Tashkent today.

The course will be delivered by experts from Austria to 25 teaching staff from the National Police Academy. The participants will share experiences and learn about gathering, storing and analysing information as part of daily police work on areas such as stolen cars, wanted persons and weapons possession. Focus will be put on providing information in a structured way, which can be used to help maintain public order, prevent crimes, and improve the overall security situation.

“The course participants will familiarize themselves with other OSCE countries’ experience in the field of information analysis,” said Jens Rasmussen, the Acting OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan at the opening. “They will be able to include these modern methodologies into the curriculum of the Police Academy, enabling the students to have a better understanding of the importance of information analysis in the daily work of police agencies.”

The training is organized as part of a larger co-operation project between the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan and the National Police Academy aimed at improving the staff training system for law-enforcement bodies.
