The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said that during the meeting, the sides signed a programme on cooperation in culture between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Italy for 2012-2015.

The document was signed within the implementation of inter-governmental agreement on cultural and scientific cooperation on 3 March 1997.

The programme envisages to develop bilateral relations in education, culture and art, archeology and protection of cultural heritage, archives and libraries, publishing, radio and television, youth exchange, sport and tourism.

It is planned to finance four existing courses of Italian language at educational establishments in Uzbekistan, exchange teachers, allocate stipends to students of Uzbekistan, and provide books to cultural and educational establishments.

The document came into force from the signing day and will be in force till adoption of new programme for next term.
