Paris Geographic Community delegation pays visit to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
A delegation of Paris Geographic Community, visiting Uzbekistan, has been received by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan Francois Gauthier on 26 September 2011, the French Embassy in Tashkent said.
The delegation led by Professor Jacques Barrat included 40 people and within two weeks they familiarized with economic, social and cultural realities of Uzbekistan.
Honourable professor of Sorbonne and honourable chairperson of Geographic Community, which was founded in 1821 and it is oldest Geographic Community in the world, Professor Jean Bastie handed over collection of ancient photos to the Ambassador.
One copy of the collection will be gifted to the library of the French Institute in Tashkent.
