Tashkent celebrated the International Day of Peace
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The International Day of Peace as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence was proclaimed in 1982 by the UN General Assembly.

Since that time various concerts, charity actions, sports events, festivals and seminars, which call on people to think about the value of peace, are held around the world annually on September 21.

In Uzbekistan, the Fund Forum, Public Association “Women’s Council”, Social Initiatives Support Fund, UN Information Center (UNIC) in collaboration with partners held a series of events commemorating the International Day of Peace.

In the capital of the country, Tashkent, there was a concert in honor of this significant date in the Park named after Bobur. By the way, the venue for such event is also very symbolic, because it is here at the initiative of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Japanese Association “Peace Bell” a bell was set as the symbol of the friendship of peoples of the world.

Concert of various dance groups, representatives of Tashkent national cultural centers and Uzbek pop stars was performed for pupils of Tashkent schools, children with disabilities and the rest.

Hundreds of flags in hands of smiling children is probably the best call for the preservation of peace, to which is not impossible to listen to.
