Uzbekistan, Qatar intend to develop bilateral relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a law “On ratification of agreement between Uzbekistan and Qatar on developing bilateral relations (Doha, 24 November 2010)” on 6 September 2011.

Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan passed the law on 24 May 2011 and Senate approved it on 27 August 2011.

The document is aimed at ratification of the agreement between Uzbekistan and Qatar on developing bilateral relations, signed during the state visit of the Uzbek President Islam Karimov to Qatar on 24 November 2010.

In line with the agreement, the sides express readiness to further development of equal cooperation in politics, trade-economy and cultural-humanitarian spheres, determine bilateral partnership based on mutual trust and interest.

In particular, the sides are planning to encourage and expand bilateral cooperation in culture, art, educational, mass media, sports and tourism, as well as fundamental and fine art, exchange of scholars, etc.
