AGMK to introduce energy saving system in 2011-2012
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine (AGMK, Tashkent region) is planning to introduce automated system on controlling and accounting energy (ASCAE) resources with the cost US$16.4 million at its all production divisions, Prime-Tass reported.

According to the specialists of AGMK, the implementation of the project will decrease power consumption at the enterprise by 118.7 million K.W.H. a year.

The introduction of energy saving technologies with introduction of ASCAE at the enterprise is conducted with the presidential resolution. The project will be implemented within a year.

The project is financed due to loans of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan at the volume of US$10.5 million and own resources of the enterprise.

The tender on purchase of necessary equipment will be announced in summer 2011.

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine is one of the largest producer of nonferrous metal in Central Asia and only copper producer of Uzbekistan. AGMK produces 90% of silver and 20% of gold in Uzbekistan. The company has two mining enterprises, two concentrating plants and two metallurgy plants.
