Uzbekistan Airways to launch new terminals in Bukhara and Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways), national airline of Uzbekistan, will launch new international passenger terminal at Bukhara airport soon, First deputy director-general of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari Egambergen Palvanov said.
Currently, the construction of passenger terminal of international routes has been almost completed at Bukhara airport. Very soon new terminal, equipped with modern equipment of international standards, will meet passengers.
Egambergen Palvanov said that the terminal will be commissioned in 1-1.5 month. He said that the launch of terminal will help to improve tourism potential of Uzbekistan. As earlier reported, the cost of the project is about US$14.7 million.
Palvanov said that Uzbekistan Havo Yollari will also complete construction of new terminal for domestic routes with adjacent infrastructure in Tashkent city in the second half of 2011.
The capacity of new terminal will make up 400 passengers an hour. The cost of the project is US$46.5 million.
