According to the committee, the volume of the gross domestic product (GDP) in the reporting period made up 13.123 trillion soums. The GDP of Uzbekistan rose by 7.6% in the first quarter of 2010 as well.
The industrial output of Uzbekistan made up 8.946 trillion soums in January-March 2011 or grew by 6.2% year-on-year.
Uzbekistan increased agricultural output by 5.8% year-on-year to 1.407 trillion soums in the reporting period.
Retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan reached 5.243 trillion soums (+13.1%) and paid services – 1.99 trillion soums (13.8%).
In the first quarter of 2011, the exports of Uzbekistan grew by 28.5% year-on-year to US$3.471 billion.
Investments to fixed capital made up 3.257 trillion soums in January-March 2011, which is 4% more compared to the same period of 2010. The volume of construction works rose by 0.9% to 1.501 trillion soums.
The volume of cargo transportation made up 255.5 million tonnes (+9.1%) and total cargo turnover – 16.588 billion tonnes-km (7.8%).
Passenger transportation by all transport types in Uzbekistan grew by 4.3% in the first quarter and made up 1.297 billion soums. Passenger turnover made up 16.416 billion passenger-km or grew by 7.7%.
