Uzbekistan’s real GDP to grow by 7% in 2011, 2012 – IMF forecast
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth of real gross domestic product (GDP) in Uzbekistan will make up 7% in 2011 and 2012, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said in its report “World Economic Outlook”.

The report, which was announced on 11 April 2011, said that economy of Uzbekistan grew by 8.5% in 2010.

According to IMF forecast, inflation in Uzbekistan will comprise 11.6% in 2011 and it will grow to 12.3% in 2012.

Current account balance surplus will make up 10% to GDP of Uzbekistan in 2011, the report said. The figure will decrease to 2010 level, thus to 6.7% in 2012.

The IMF report said that unemployment level in Uzbekistan will be at the 0.2% level in 2011 and 2012, which is the lowest figure among the CIS states.

As earlier reported, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) last week forecasted that Uzbekistan’s economic will grow by 8.5% in 2011 and 8.4% in 2012.

According to ADB forecast, inflation level in Uzbekistan will be 8.8% this year and 8.5% in next year.

ADB said that current trade balance surplus will be at the level of 16.3% to GDP in 2011 and 12.6% in 2012.
