Uzmetkombinat produces 177,500 tonnes of steel in 1Q 2011
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek Metallurgy Combine (Uzmetkombinat) produced 177,500 tonnes of steel in the first quarter of 2011, which is up 0.8% year-on-year, the company’s press service said.

The press service said that the plant delivered 169,900 tonnes of ferrous metals to consumers in the reporting period of 2011 at the forecast task of 169,000 tonnes (+0.5%).

The enterprise produced goods for 182.9 billion soums in current prices or 162.8 billion soums in comparable prices (+2.9%) in the first three months of 2011.

In three months of 2011, the plant manufactured consumer goods for 6.8 billion soums, or it fulfilled forecast with 8.7% surplus.

In the reporting period, Uzmetkombinat produced 28,060 tonnes of localized products for 34.403 billion soums, or the forecast task was fulfilled with 43.4% surplus.

Uzmetkombinat said it fulfilled agreements, signed within the Cooperation Exchange, for 3.7 billion soums in the first quarter of 2011, while the forecast was 3.657 billion soums (1.2% up compared to forecast plan).

As of 1 April 2011, the enterprise purchased goods for 313.1 million soums from small and private businesses in the reporting period. It added that the forecast volume was 303.49 million soums.

In the first quarter of 2011, the plant employed 74 people, including 10 people on out-work, the press service said.

In the reporting period, the plant used capital investments for 12 billion soums at the forecast volume of 11.7 billion soums. The enterprise used 10.2 billion soums within modernization programme, while the forecast task was 9.9 billion soums.
