The index made up 61.5 points in March 2011, which is 5.4 points up compared to February 2011. The forecast for April 2011 makes up 69.5 points, which says that the Business Activity Index will change slightly.

The committee noted that current Business Activity Index means favourable trend as it is higher than 50 points and positive dynamic says about the growth of business activity.

The growth was recorded in capital construction and construction industry, power industry, chemistry, petrochemical and metallurgy industries. The main reason for growth is high demand for products.

Business Activity Index in industry sector (APIC 100) was developed in June 2010 and calculated based on survey of 100 large and medium businesses. The APIC 100 replaced the Index APIC 50 (based on survey of 50 enterprises).

The index is calculated based on 5 basic indicators, such as new orders, production volume and realization, employment and ready products at warehouse.
