President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution of the Cabinet of Minister, which approved the programme.

According to the programme, Uzbekistan will construct and reconstruct cold stores for storing fruits and vegetables with the total capacity of 120,800 tonnes, including cold stores of Uzulgurjisavdoinvest Association with the capacity of 50,000 tonnes and Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan (MFERIT) with the capacity of 45,000 tonnes, as well as private and other enterprises – 25,800 tonnes.

It is also planned to modernize cold stores with total capacity of 49,000 tonnes, including cold stores of Uzulgurjisavdoinvest Association with the capacity of 17,800 tonnes and MFERIT – 31,300 tonnes.

Uzulgurjisavdoinvest Association, MFERIT and privet enterprises will issue resources to financing the project. In particular, it is planned to direct 187 billion soums to construction and reconstruction of cold stores, of which 71.3 billion soums will be own resources of enterprises and 115.7 billion soums – loans of commercial banks.

Over 31.9 billion soums will be invested to modernization of cold stores, of which 9.4 billion soums will be own resources of the enterprise and 22.5 billion soums – loans of commercial banks.

The government exempted cold and warehouse enterprises, spare materials, loading and unloading equipment, which are not produced in Uzbekistan and imported within the project, from payment of customs payments till 1 January 2016.

Organizations, participating in progreamme implementations, were also exempted from payment of property tax for main assets, used for storing fruits and vegetables with use of cold stores, for three years from the launch of the object after construction, reconstruction and modernization.
