Tashkent hosts training on security of supply chains
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent hosted a national training on security of supply chains for sixteen employees of the State Customs Committee, Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, as well as Agency for Road and River Transport of Uzbekistan.

The chain supply is system of organizations, people, events and resources, all of which participate in transfer of goods or services from producer to consumer. Chain supply process turns raw material and components to ready products, which are supplied to final consumers.

Simple supply chain starts from mining of raw materials and include several production chains, for example, assembling, warehousing and supplying to consumers.

During the seminar, participants considered framework standards of the WTO on complex management of international supply chains (SAFE), as well as other international initiatives and standards on security of supply chain.

Within the framework of the EU-UNDP BOMCA assistance programme, the European Union fosters institutional reform in border management, strengthens training capacities, assists in securing the Tajik-Afghan border, improves the infrastructure along trade and transit routes, and helps counter drug smuggling in Central Asia.
