Main economic and social indicators for January-September 2010

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan made up 40.412 trillion soums in January-September 2010, or grew by 8.3% year-on-year, the report of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The industrial output of the country rose by 8.3% and made up 23.925 trillion soums. In the reporting period, Uzbekistan produced consumer goods for 7.957 trillion soums, which grew by 12% year-on-year.

Agriculture output grew by 7.8% year-on-year to 11.182 trillion soums in the reporting period. Investments into fixed capital reached 10.761 trillion soums or increased by 8.1% year-on-year.

Retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan in the reporting period made up 15.133 trillion soums, or increased by 12.2% year-on-year.

The volume of paid services, rendered to population of Uzbekistan in January-September 2010, comprised 5.33 trilion soums, which is up 10.3%.

Foreign trade of Uzbekistan grew by 0.2% year-on-year and made up US$15.507 billion. At the same time, the exports of Uzbekistan rose by 10.9% to US$9.556 billion. Imports fell by 13.3% to US$5.941 billion.
