Birth rate in Uzbekistan makes up 21.7 pro mil in January-September 2010

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The birth rate in Uzbekistan was 21.7 pro mil in January-September 2010 and decreased by 1.2 pro mil compared with the corresponding period of 2009 (22.9 pro mil), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

In the reporting period the death rate in Uzbekistan was 4.6 pro mil or decreased by 0.2 pro mil in comparison with the corresponding period of 2009.

Out of the total number of the dead 59.6% died of cardiovascular diseases, 7.3% – neoplasms, 6.4% - accidents, poisonings and traumas, and 6% - respiratory diseases.

According to the preliminary data in January-September 2010, 5,300 children died at the age under one year. The infant mortality rate decreased from 11.9 pro mil in January-September 2009 to 11.1 pro mil in January-September 2010.

Out of the total number of children died at the age under one year 44% died of states occurring in perinatal period, 32.1% - respiratory diseases, 7.5% - congenital anomalies and 4% - infectious and parasitic diseases.

In January-September 2010, 183,400 marriages and 13,700 divorces were registered. There were 8.7 marriages (in 2009 – 8.4) and 0.6 divorces (in 2009 – 0.6) per 1,000 population.

In line with the preliminary data in January-September 2010, number of immigrants made up 105,700 and that of emigrants – 136,800.

The highest migration of population was marked in Tashkent region (immigrants – 13,400, emigrants – 22,000) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (immigrants – 11,600, emigrants – 22,200). The balance of migration was minus 31,100 versus minus 36,500 in the corresponding period of 2009.
